2 Month Weight Loss Challenge: Day 4

Day IV: Do you work out? How many times a week?

I do workout. How much depends on how I am feeling. On a good week in the past, I will do Zumba 2x week, walk one night a week, and lift weights 2x per week.

I’m thinking I need to switch this up. I really want to do more yoga. Maybe I can switch weights for yoga?

Exercise, awesome. Food not so much.

Meal 1: Protein bar, coffee with creamer (330)

Meal 2: Cabbage salad (200), 4 donut holes (200)

Meal 3: Coconut-almond-thai noodles with edamame (300)

Meal 4: Protein bar (275), apple (50)

Meal 5: 2 small turkey wrap with laughing cow cheese (360), green beans with toasted almonds (YUM!!!) (120)

Meal 6: Dark chocolate plums (250)

Total: 2285 MAINTENANCE :(

Exercise: Hot yoga, 75 minutes

My first hot yoga class! I like it but my mat is really bad! I need a new one.

2 Month Weight Loss Challenge: Day 3

Day III: Do you count calories? What is your daily calorie goal/allowance?


Yes, I do. It really is eye-opening. It is one of my main strategies for losing weight.

My calorie goal is 1630-1980 calories. This is how many calories I need to eat now and the rest of my life— if I do, I will eventually get to my goal body of ~130 pounds with 20% body fat.

The only time I would need to up this would be if I was training for a marathon or competition (or if I was pregnant, I guess). And I shouldn’t ever need to lower it — no starvation mode for me!

I try to make calorie counting easier by keeping breakfast, lunch, and my afternoon snack the same amount of calories and then have the flexibility to vary the rest of the night based on what is going on. Some weeks are better than others for doing that, though.

Too many calories :(

Today was not the best for choices for eating.

Meal 1: Protein bar, coffee with  creamer (330)

Meal 2: Donut, apple (350)

Meal 3: Cabbage salad (150), Kale Salad (150), Cookie (200), Soup (300)

Meal 4: 2 Tangerines (100)

Meal 5: 3 oz chicken (100), Rice Noodles (175), cabbage salad (150), almond-curry-coconut sauce (80)

Meal 6: Chocolate covered plums (200)

Total: 2285

Workout: 15 min Zumba — my legs ached really badly so I left after 15 min. 4 days of lots of leg stuff in a row is too much! Or at least I need to work up to it.

I can do better than this! Today was maintenance level of calories

2 Month Weight Loss Challenge: Day 2

This week’s challenge: the sweets thing — I’ve had chocolate covered fruit and dried fruit. Does that count?

Day II: What is your MAIN reason for wanting to lose weight? (Be honest.)

I want to be smoking hot. I want to be healthy. I want to be the best that I can be.

The real reason, above all, is that it is something I have tried to do for years and never been able to accomplish.

I have always done well at school and I am excited about my new career. I have someone I love very much and I’m excited about our life together. The two areas I struggle with are friends and above all I struggle with my health.

I want to be able to feel like I can do anything, fitness related or not. I want to feel sexy and strong.

I can’t say that someday the world will find me sexy and then I’ll feel okay, because that will never happen. But I can feel like I am doing my best, like I do with my job and my relationship, and that’s all I can do.

Eating crappy food, not exercising, dying an early death… that is not my best.

I am going to get to a healthy weight someday because I know I can accomplish this, just like everything else.

Calories

Meal 1: Protein bar, coffee with creamer (315)

Meal 2: Crackers & cheese (240)

Meal 3: Lentil soup (300), Kale salad (200), Tangerines (100)

Meal 4: Almonds (150)

Meal 5: Chicken salad (500), Tomato soup (330)

Meal 6: Chocolate covered dried plums, mango slices (200)

Total: 2035

I’d like for it to be a little less, but over all not so bad. I also rounded up a lot so I could be good.

Exercise: None. Wanted to do yoga but did not feel well tonight.

EDIT: I DID IT!!! I did 45 minutes of yoga even though I didn’t originally feel well. It was a good idea.
